#Indonesia101

5 Blogs I Have Been Scrutinizing Lately

Lately, while I am losing some of my thirst reading books – partly because I have finished the only new book I bring, I find myself drown into reading blogs I happen to find the link in Twitter or Facebook, and some blogs I find the link on the blogs linked on those Twitter and Facebook 😀 Some of them, not only did I read one or two articles on, but I dig more or more. I find myself enjoying all of them. Some of them, gives me great amusement on the way they tell their story, some of them I find as a very helpful information. So here hey are:
1. Mutiarafadjar
The name of the blog is coming from the owners, who happen to be a young married couple, Mutiara and Fadjar. I am impressed by the blog since I found it intriguing, to know more about the young couple – Mutiara, born on 1989, a brilliant woman, being in acceleration class twice, getting bachelor scholarship in APU uni Japan, previously working in ASEAN office, and financing a random girl’s school and Fadjar, born on 1987, is medical school fresh graduate and also loves doing some charitable works. They have just come back from Belgium, where Fadjar got an Erasmus Maheva scholarship. I mean, it is very rare to find two youth, having excellent career, deciding to get married in that early age.
The blog has a great numbers of followers, more than 1200, as I checked the last time. I guess, maybe it is because of the numbers of articles which are updated regularly. Mostly, the one who writes a lot is Fadjar, the husband. Since he is a javanese coming from Jogja, some parts in the stories, he uses Javanese. But don’t worry. Even if you are non-Javanes you will still find the blog to be easy to be understood.
We can find a lot stories about their personal experiences and the lesson learnt, some tips about scholarship, sponsorship for financing a conference’ delegates and their short biography.
2. Ollie’s
The name salsabeela is the nickname of Aulia Halimatussadiyah or usually called Ollie. She is a founder of kutukutubuku.com, nulisbuku.com and some other start-ups. In short, she is a whiz-kid in IT-entrepreneurship world. Her stories share insight and unique perspectives. The most impressive posts for me are those dealing with her previous marriage which include all details since her wedding preparation. I think it’s cool how someone who had been in such an uncomfortable situation is willing to preserve the monument which has a great chance of reminding her of her past experiences. Most people will dispose of those memories, but Ollies, instead of getting rid off those bunches stories, she decided to let it be as a part of reminder and lesson for every one else, and most importantly herself.
3. Made Andi
In my opinion, every Indonesian who wishes to pursue scholarship must know him, Made Andi Arsana. He is a lecturer, specifically on geology and successfully obtained two prestigious scholarships, ADS and NZDS. He shares a lot about self-motivation, and details about applying scholarship.
4. Bunda Tatty Elmir
Bunda Tatty Elmir is a co-founder of Forum Indonesia Muda, along with his husband, Elmir Amin. We can find a lot of insightful stories ranging from know-how to marriage thingy 😀 All everyday nook and cranny wisdom 🙂
5. Keluarga Nugraha
This is a place where you can find a lot of great recipes. The Nugrahas is currently living in Oz. Both of the couples were AFS scholars. Their personal stories are also heart-warming!
